TallyPrime holds everything about your business, but most owners only see it when the accountant prints something. You do not need to learn accounting to stay in control — you need to look at the right ten reports, briefly, every week.
1. Sales summary
This week against last week, and this month against last month. A sudden drop is the earliest warning you will get.
2. Sales by party
Which customers are buying more, and which have quietly stopped? A regular customer who disappears is worth a phone call this week, not next quarter.
3. Receivables with ageing
Who owes you money and for how long. Start with the oldest bucket — that is where money is lost. (See our guide on checking outstanding from anywhere.)
4. Payables
What you owe and when. Paying suppliers on time protects your credit and your prices.
5. Cash and bank balances
Today's balance in each bank and in cash. Compare it with the payables due this week before committing to anything new.
6. Stock summary
Quantities and value by item and godown. Look for items that are not moving — they are cash sitting on a shelf.
7. Purchases
What was bought and from whom. Rising purchases with flat sales means stock is building up.
8. Profit & Loss
Month to date. Watch gross profit and the big expense heads; one unusual expense is easier to question now than at year end.
9. Day Book
Everything entered today or this week. A two-minute scroll shows whether entries are up to date — reports are only as good as the entries behind them.
10. Balance Sheet
Once a month: what the business owns and owes. Keep an eye on loans, receivables and stock growing faster than sales.
Make it a 15-minute habit
- Pick a fixed time — Monday morning works for most owners.
- Go through the list in order; note just one action per report.
- Share the actions with your team the same day.
The habit only works if the reports are easy to open. With SwastikOne, all ten are in your phone's browser, synced from TallyPrime, with drill-down to the vouchers behind every figure and PDF or Excel download when you need to share one.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an accountant to read these?
No. Start with sales, receivables, cash and stock — they are plain numbers. Ask your accountant about anything that looks unusual.
Can my partner see the same reports?
Yes. Each partner gets their own login and sees the same figures from the same Tally data.
