Most business owners in India still check their numbers the same way: call the accountant, wait for a screenshot, or go back to the office and open TallyPrime. It works — until you are at a customer's office, travelling, or simply want to know today's sales before you sleep.
This guide explains the options for seeing your TallyPrime reports on a mobile phone, what to watch out for, and how to set it up in a few minutes.
Why TallyPrime is hard to use on a phone
TallyPrime is a Windows desktop program. Your company data lives on the office PC (or a local server), and the screens are built for a keyboard. That is exactly why it is fast and reliable for data entry — and why it is awkward when you are away from the desk.
The usual workarounds each have a cost:
- Screenshots on WhatsApp — someone in the office has to stop work, and you only see what they chose to send.
- Remote-desktop apps — you control the office PC from your phone. The screen is tiny, the office PC must be free, and whoever is at that PC is interrupted.
- Exporting to Excel — the file is out of date the moment it is sent.
A better way: your Tally reports in the browser
With SwastikOne, a small connector on the PC where TallyPrime runs sends your data securely to the web. You then sign in from the browser on any phone — Android or iPhone — and see your reports laid out for a small screen. There is nothing to install on the phone, and nobody in the office is disturbed.
Because the connector keeps syncing while TallyPrime is running, the figures you see are the figures in Tally, not last week's export.
What you can check on the phone
- Sales and purchases — by day, month or party, with the vouchers behind every figure.
- Receivables and payables — who owes you, whom you owe, and how old each bill is (ageing).
- Stock — item-wise quantities and movement across your godowns.
- Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance and Cash Flow.
- Cash and bank — balances and bank books.
- Day Book and voucher registers — everything entered today.
Reports drill down from a total to the ledger and from the ledger to the voucher, and any report can be downloaded as a PDF or Excel file to send on.
How to set it up
- Install the connector on the Windows PC where TallyPrime runs. It takes a few minutes and does not need an administrator password.
- Enter your connector key from the SwastikOne Setup page and choose which Tally company to sync.
- Keep TallyPrime running during business hours. New entries sync automatically.
- Open SwastikOne in your phone's browser and sign in. Add it to your home screen if you like — it then opens like an app.
Nothing changes in how your team uses Tally. They keep entering vouchers exactly as before.
Tips for using Tally reports on mobile
- Start your day with receivables: call the two or three parties with the oldest dues before they call you for more credit.
- Check stock before you promise a delivery date to a customer.
- Give each person their own login instead of sharing one password — you decide who sees what.
- Use the period selector to compare this month with last month at a glance.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy a new Tally licence?
No. SwastikOne works with your existing TallyPrime, company and licence.
Does the office PC need to stay on?
For new data to arrive, yes — the connector reads from TallyPrime while it is running. When it is off, you still see everything up to the last sync.
Can I enter vouchers from the phone too?
Yes, on a Read & Write plan you can raise vouchers from the web and they post straight into TallyPrime. On Read Only, your team can see reports without changing anything.
